The birth date of Hatha Yoga is placed somewhere between 3,000 - 1,900 BC. The Sanskrit word 'Yoga' means to
"yoke" or to
"unite". The practice of Hatha Yoga is to use the physical asanas (postures) in conjunction with conscious breath (pranayama) to
unite the body, mind, and spirit. The practice of Hatha Yoga is known to build muscle tone, calm the mind, stretch your muscles and joints, and strengthen your nervous system and internal organs. Hatha Yoga is an incredible way to create and maintain a healthy mind and body - and it is a lot of fun as well!
